Appearance - Opaque purple color with some slowly descending tears visible.
Nose - youthful with medium intensity. Reductive aromas and some noticeable brett, like farmyard and some fresh leather. Than some cherry comes up and some fresh blueberry.
Palate - dry, high acidity, but well integrated, fairly ripe tannins of medium plus presence but fine grained, medium body and alcohol. Palate is cleaner with lots of wild berry fruit notes apparent. Again some cherry, blueberry, spicy licorice, a leafy nuance, fresh mineral steely notes and a little animal leather touch. Fresh medium plus length.
Conclusions (17/20) - maintains the region's tipicity, which makes it not that readily approachable. Nevertheless the palate is refined and intensely fruited, fresh and vivid with a mouthwatering acidity. Nicely fluid entrance, but the tannin structure is there showing a spicy side on the vividly fresh aftertaste. The off aromas are not that replicated on the palate hinting that a good decanting will clean the nose (go for at least 2 hours and serve it slightly chilled). This is mostly a food wine with perfect acidity to pair well with fatty dishes and spicy sauces. But i'm quite enjoying a glass of this fluid and super fresh wine all by itself.
Note: In August I opened another bottle of this wine and the off aromas where quite unbearable it felt clearly out of condition as the palate reproduced this unpleasantness and it rendered undrinkable even after decanting. The cork was completely destroyed upon uncorking so that particular bottle must have been tainted.
