Appearance - clear and bright, medium minus ruby colour with some visible tears.
Nose - clean, youthful with medium plus intensity, some fresh red plum, black fruit notes of ripe cherry, soft oaky aromas, some sweet spice and a touch of game, just a trace for now.
Palate - dry, medium plus acidity, a high tannin level that's ripe but slightly dusty, medium plus alcohol and body. A pronounced flavour intensity is showing a lovely mix of ripe red and black fruits, mainly cherry and plum, lots of earthy mineral notes, some pungent black pepper, kernal roasted coffee notes, toasted oak and some sweet spice resembling cinnamon and the pleasing medium plus length.
Conclusions (17,5/20) - very good quality, tight for now showing clear sense of place. Complex and nicely concentrated in terms of aromas and flavours with a lovely acidity to balance the ripeness. Smooth entrance but structured finish, is drinking well right now, but exhibits great ageing potential, would keep it 10 years to see it bloom.
