Chateau de La Mulonniere L'effet Papillon 2011 AC Savennières
Tasted February 2014
Appearance - clear and bright, medium intensity lemon color.
Nose - clean, youthful with medium intensity. Aromas reminisce green fruits like apple, ripe apricots and a slight honey trace.
Palate - dry, a perfectly integrated high acidity, medium body and alcohol. Medium plus flavour intensity with ripe green apple, ripe stone fruits, honeyd, discrete oaky vanillin, some stony minerally character and a zesty medium plus length with some citrus notes and a touch of ginger.
Conclusions (17,5/20) - very nice wine, shows all the richness and intensity of very ripe grapes lifted by a wonderful mouthwatering acidity. Nose is closed but the palate is showing its level of complexity with rich, dense fruit, traces of honey, mineral notes and zesty, slightly spicy finish, a very long finish. Will curiously follow its development, not absolutely classic in the sense that it's totally approachable as of now, but still it shows promising ageing potential.
