Tasted November 2013 Appearance - clear and bright, ruby in color with medium intensity and some signs of turning garnet.
Nose - Clean, still developing and with medium defined aromas of ripe dark cherry, plum, traces of fig and just on the background notes of blackcurrant.
Palate - dry, medium plus acidity very fresh still. Tannins have a medium plus presence, grainy in texture, slightly bitter and a little drying, has a medium body and medium plus alcohol. Medium flavor intensity is again showing some cherry, not as ripe, some fig and blackcurrant. Some dry oaky notes and a leafy character. Medium length.
Conclusions - (15,75/20) Refined aromatics, nicely developed and still fresh. Palate is coherently fresh but already showing some signs of fading fruit. The slightly coarse tannins need a good decanting to mellow a bit and some extra filling would be welcome. Still a nice drink, specially to have with grilled meats.
2 hours decanted cocoa notes appeared on nose and palate and a little bit more fruit. Tannins were rounder, wine was generally more drinkable.
