Chateâu La Lagune 2007 Haut Médoc AC Grand Cru Classé
Tasted on July 2010
Appearance –
clear, with medium intensity, red garnet. No apparent difference between the
core and rim.
Nose –
clear, with medium plus, youthful intensity. Pure, fresh blackcurrant aroma
with notes of cedar oak and hints of black chocolate.
Palate –
Dry, with medium plus acidity and tannin and a medium body and alcohol level. Flavour intensity is medium. Shows consistent black fruit flavours with slight
notes of green bell pepper and medium length.
Conclusions(16,5/20)
– Very good quality, high priced wine, with lots of development up ahead, as tannins
are quite present but balanced with nice acidity and fruit concentration. Nice
complexity. It has racy character from Cabernet but noticeably rounded by
Merlot.
