Conclusions (14,5/20)- a good quality wine, intensely fruity, very perfumed, very fluid on the palate with seamless drink ability. For me it has a slight unbalance, a noticeable sweetish, ripe character towards the end that lingers on the aftertaste, but most will be thankful for this feature. Drink now, take it for your holidays for relaxed thoughtless nights.
Bétula 2010 white regional Douro
Tasted September 2011
Conclusions(17/20) - Very good quality, medium priced (€12), ready to drink but can improve. All very fresh and zesty, fruity but full of mouthwatering acidity, not conceding to a sweet tooth. I really enjoy its character, a perfect partner for this hot September, drink now to enjoy its pungent youth or keep it 1/2 years to smooth some edges. Love the refreshing aftertaste, it is adaptable to a vast array of gastronomic parings, a the top of my head I can think of oysters and seafood in general.
Duas Quintas 2008 red DOC Douro
Tasted on June 2011
Conclusions (15/20) - Good quality, mid priced (€8,50), ready to drink but can develop further, at least 3/4 years. A wine of finesse rather than power, should be a good food companion. Classic Douro well represented.
UBUNTU Niepoort 2008 DOC Douro
Tasted on June 2010
Conclusions (15,5/20) - Good quality, inexpensive, ready do drink but will keep well for 2/3 years. In my view a very good value for money ratio, a well balanced wine with excellent drink-ability.
