Graham Beck Waterside unoaked Chardonnay 2009 Robertson, South Africa
Tasted May 2012
Appearance - Clear and bright, lemon green with medium intensity.
Nose - clean, developing aromas of medium intensity, mainly citrus fruit like lime, some green apple, a stone fruit note of apricot and a mineral phosphorus note.
Palate - dry with a medium level of alcohol acidity and body. Medium flavour intensity, once again showing a citric character of lime, apricot and apple maintaining a smoky mineral character on the medium length finish.
Conclusions (15/20) - good quality, zesty and fresh hinting a cool climate, good balance but fairly simple. Ready to drink it will keep nicely for the next 2 years.
