Herdade das Albernoas White 2010 Regional Alentejo (Paço do Conde)
Tasted January 2012
Appearance - clear and bright, pale lemon green.
Nose - clean, youthful, medium intensity aromas of green fruits like apple and some gooseberry accompanied by some lime notes.
Palate - bone dry, medium acidity level that is tart and a bit on the green side, medium alcohol, medium minus body and flavour intensity. Green notes appear on the palate once more, showing a meagre kind of fruit and a very thin texture, green apple peel is dominant. Some rubbery notes. A medium minus length with some bitter notes. It is not an out of balance wine but it shows signs of unripe grapes, and even tough it is kind of vivid it is shapeless.
Conclusions (13/20) - Poor quality, shows insufficient fruit concentration, no complexity whatsoever and shorty after-taste. The tartaric correction is to evident giving it a mean character. Retailing at 3€. Drink now, if you have too, clearly not intended for ageing.
