Nepenthe Ithaca Chardonnay 2004 Adelaide Hills

Appearance – clear, medium intensity lemon-green. Clearly paler rim, some tears.

Nose – clean, medium plus intensity, fully developed. Aromas of stone apricot fruit, smoke, butter, coconut, fresh cut grass, a hint of marmalade and some cooked vegetables.

Palate – dry, medium acidity, no tannin, medium alcohol and medium body. Flavours range from fully ripe pineapple, coconut, apricot, and some vegetable character. There is a buttery undertone on the medium plus length.

Conclusions (15/20) – Good quality, high-priced, ready to drink and will not improve. Slightly over oaked.
