Nicolas Feuillatte Réserve Particulière Brut, Champagne, Chouilly Épernay
Tasted on September 2010
Appearance –
clear, medium minus gold. Watery rim, some tears.
Nose –
clean, medium intensity, developing. Aromas of dried fruits, green apple, with
clear autolytic character, showing yeast, bread, biscuit and a hint of honey.
Palate –
dry, high acidity, no tannin, medium alcohol, medium plus body and a delicate
mousse. Fruit aromas go towards green apple peel, but once again the autolytic
components dominate the palate, adding dough to the nose. There is a salty
touch balanced with some honey.
Conclusions(16/20)
– Very good quality, premium priced, ready to drink but will not improve. I was impressed at how well it kept as it was stored since 2006. This is a very special champagne for me as it was served at my wedding, so I will always love it...
