Grapes - Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and various others
Appearance - a clear, lovely delicate pale ruby colour. Some visible tears.
Nose - clean, alluring youthful aromas with pronounced intensity resembling ripe but fresh red fruits, mainly of raspberry and cherry, restrained flowery notes of violets, notes of sweet oaky vanilla and a fresh mineral undertone.
Palate - dry, medium plus acidity, mouthwatering and fresh, very fine and supple tannins of medium plus level, medium alcohol level and a fluid medium body. Medium plus intensity flavours in line with the nose, precise sweet but fresh red fruits, nuances of oaky vanilla, flowery and stony minerality with hints of spicy, peppery notes on the long lingering finish.
Conclusions (18,5/20) - Outstanding wine, impossible not to love! Delicate fruit, precise, ripe but so fresh, backed by a lovely acidity backbone that keeps you wanting more. Texture wise it is pure fluid elegance, caressing your palate every sip like velvet. Regardless all this delicious drink ability it's structure of spicy tannins and the perfect acidity hint at a long healthy ageing potential, 10 years won't do it any harm at all, in fact I'm anxious for the savouriness it will surely bring.
