Herdade do Sobroso - Sobro white 2012, regional Alentejo
Tasted April 2013
Appearance - clear and bright, medium minus intensity lemon green. Some visible tears.
Nose - clean and youthful with medium intensity. Lively fruit profile with fresh stone fruits, mainly peach, green apple, restrained tropical notes and ripe citric undertone of lemon.
Palate - dry, medium acidity, a little green and tart, medium body and alcohol level. Medium intensity flavours, dominated by green fruit notes of apple, lots of fresh citric tones and just hints of peach. Medium minus length.
Conclusions (14,5/20) - acceptable quality, no major flaws, fruity, fresh and drinkable, although not that interesting. The nose seemed more expressive but the palate is clearly one sided and slightly unbalanced, components seem disjointed. Aftertaste is a bit tart.
