Appearance - clear and bright medium garnet color with sticky thick legs. Nose - clean, developing with pronounced intensity. A precise aroma of ripe green bell pepper almost like a spicy jam, loads of ripe black Forest fruits, mainly black currant and morello cherry, some meat juice notes, sweet spices and hints of creamy oak vanilla.
Palate - dry, medium plus acidity, powdery, spicy tannins with a medium plus presence, high alcohol and full body. Very spicy with green bell pepper notes, ginger and liquorice, lots of tobacco leaf, dried fruits, mainly raisins but figs and prunes as well and still appearing some black fruit notes of black currant. Long earthy and spiced length but very hot.
Conclusions (16,75/20) - very good quality, showing some sense of origin with its powerful notes of ripe black fruits, spiciness and muscular structure. A good streak of mouthwatering acidity is supporting and balancing this rich ensemble just slightly spiked by warming alcohol level and a little green. In a good moment for drinking, primarily paired with braised meats, but will continue to mellow for the next 4 years.
