Trapiche Varietales Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Argentina
Tasted April 2013
Appearance - clear but not that bright medium intensity ruby colour. Some tears very quickly descending.
Nose - clean, developing nose with medium intensity. It shows some black fruit, cherry, blackberry and just a trace of blackcurrant. A little rubber undertone.
Palate - dry, medium acidity, medium level of dusty tannins, medium body and alcohol level. Medium minus intensity flavours of cherry, some blackcurrant, dark grape skin, just a trace of green bell pepper and a dusty, earthy medium minus length.
Conclusions (14,25/20) - acceptable quality wine, everything is average but balanced. Not a lot of aromatic expression and a shorty length marked by a dusty tannin texture, but fairly fresh, fruity and even racy. Drink now with spicy seasoned grilled meat.
