Vietti Barolo 2004 DOCG Castiglione Piedmont
Tasted on September 2010
Appearance – clear, medium plus garnet. Paler rim, some tears.
Nose – clean, medium plus intensity, developing. Aromas of black fruit like cherry, liquorice, cedar wood and some fresh eucalyptus character.
Palate – dry, high acidity and tannin, medium plus alcohol and body. Flavours showing also some dark cherry, liquorice and oak. Long length.
Conclusions (18,5/20) – Outstanding quality, premium priced, needs a lot of time to develop it's full potential, but already showing a very seductive character that will only refine with age.
