Appearance - Clear, pale lemon green colour with a very broad watery rim and very few visible tears.
Nose - clean, youthful, with medium plus intensity aromas of grapefruit, ripe gooseberry, some fresh cut grass and a marked flinty mineral note.
Palate - dry, high mouthwatering acidity, medium minus alcohol level and body. Medium plus flavour intensity, showing fresh fruit flavours of green apples, grapefruit, some ripe gooseberry, lemon and a medium plus, stony mineral, length with a gentle spicy touch of white pepper.
Conclusions (16/20) - very good quality wine, exhibits a clear sense of place, very refreshing with loads of vibrant fruit intensity supported by a perfectly integrated acidity, a balanced ensemble. Long mineral finish lends it nice complexity. Typical Sancerre very well made and perfect for drinking right away, but will keep for 2 to 3 years, although I don't see the point of waiting, it's quite lovely at the moment.
